With this exhibition at Kunstquartier Bethanien we want to give artist of color a plattform to emancipate from the western discurses on modernity and give them their own voice in order to enter into a inter-cultural dialogue, but from the perspective of empowerment.
Our aim with our Agency and the exhibited artwork is to illustrate the borders of modernity by rebelling playfully and creatively against the cultural dominance of modernity. We do not claim any universial truth or postion ourselfs radically against the western definition of modernity, we rather want to celebrate the plurality of different cosmologies which are unseparably connected to our identities.
